Not so long time ago tattoos were not seen among common people - most didn't even know the possibility existed. Sure, there have always been members of elite military forces or imprisoned criminals, who decorated their bodies with images of various symbolic meaning, but the phenomenon was not widespread. The War changed a lot in people's lives and minds. Many of the combatants gave in to the fresh tradition of depicting something memorable on their bodies: like the sigil of division they served in, or battles they fought, or - for the most sentimental - something to remind them of their home. This tradition quickly grew into a modern trend, and where there is demand, there will always supply.
And so it came to this: salons are opened throughout the land, young people pin various pictures to their skin (often to the displeasure of the older generation), and simple artists are simply doing their business. Because there is a demand.
